Joe retired from MPI in July 2013. The Owl Line Alumni Magazine was dedicated to his 17 years as President and Headmaster.
Joe's article One Way Out, written about adversity, is featured in the book Greater Good, Life Lessons from Hawai'i's Leaders.
He is also featured on the Greater Good Radio Program.
Well known author Kent Keith featured one of Joe's stories, in the chapter Give the World the Best You Have and You'll Get Kicked in the Teeth, from Do It Anyway.
